Father Jose Maria Morelos

After researching about this we found it to have a depressing mood. Morelos was executed on December 22,1815. His followers continued the struggle but soon gave up. Also, they executed farmers who supported Morelos.

In retaliation Morelos insructed his follower to kill and destroy the crops of all whites and mixed bloods.

Morelos gave every consideration to the interests of the whites and mixed bloods in the area he controlled. He demonstrated his interest in the governing of an independent Spain.

Why did Morelos think it was right to go after the mixed bloods in retaliation?

Morelos was a man of property and a priest. He rebeled against the authority of the royal government. He quit his parish and travelled north to meet Father Hidalgo. Hidalgo told him to go south and lead a rebellion on tne pacific coast.

In the end we think that Morelos' actions were for the good of man kind. He gave people hope which is what truely matters.
